French - speaking Project Accountant
Our client is an international company based in Vancouver. They are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Project Accountant to join their Finance team. This position will provide functional project accounting support to Project Managers and Partners. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level professional looking to join a well-positioned global leader in an exciting and growing industry. Since the project is in a French-speaking location, thus you will be fluent in French to be effective in this role.
-Provide full-cycle accounting support for assigned projects, including
-Project setup, maintenance and analysis in the company Management System.
-Monthly revenue recognition actions.
-Monthly invoicing with collections support. ·
-Adopt the company's project setup policy and procedure into day to day activities. ·
-Be able to consistently meet deadlines with invoices and project setup. ·
-Coordinate global projects with international offices. ·
-Maintain project tracking spreadsheets. ·
-Assist with financial aspects of proposals for new work. ·
-Interact regularly with technical staff, specifically Project Managers, to ensure that projects are accurate in terms of budgets and general project maintenance (e.g., ensuring project closures are occurring, project change orders are approved timely, WIP balances are correct, project bill rates are correct, expense/subcontractor mark-ups are correct, etc.). ·
-Respond to team member inquiries in an efficient and timely manner, via phone, email, IM and/or face-to-face communications. ·
-Generate ad hoc project reports for Project Managers and Finance leads. · --
-Perform a weekly review of projects.
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university.
- 3 to 5 years of project accounting experience, professional services experience a plus. ·
-Strong computer skills, including Excel and experience using mid- to high-level accounting software packages (e.g. BST, Deltek, Oracle or others). ·
-Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and clients. -Ability to work with minimal supervision in a highly collaborative manner meeting deadlines and completing required tasks. ·
“Hands-on” professional with a strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
