About Us

As co-founder of HMW Recruiters Inc. (HMW), Bill has over 20 years of experience in the recruitment industry. He worked as a senior consultant in the accounting and finance divisions of two industry-leading search firms, winning “top consultant” awards for quarterly and yearly performance on numerous occasions as well as the President’s award before becoming a Partner at HMW. He specializes in the placement of professional accountants and accounting students within CA/CGA firms and industry environments.

In addition to his proven experience working with public practice firms, he has an in-depth knowledge of public company and regulatory reporting requirements and regularly recruits controllers and financial reporting managers for publicly-listed and private companies. He has also completed many successful searches involving Canadian & US taxation, internal / SOX compliance audits, and risk and financial advisory services.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Business Management from the University of British Columbia and is a Certified Personnel Consultant. With his accounting experience and proven track record, he is able to effectively recruit for a diverse group of clients in a wide base of industries.

Away from the office, Bill enjoys traveling, cooking, skiing, playing tennis and volleyball and is a huge Vancouver Canucks’ fan.

Malcolm was born and raised in Greater Vancouver. He attended UBC and obtained a BComm degree with a major in marketing. On graduation he joined a large local food manufacturing and distribution company first as a sales representative and then laterally as a brand manager. After three years he left and joined an accounting firm which eventually merged with KPMG. He became a manager in the entrepreneurial services group and eventually joined a client in the distribution business as VP Finance and Administration. In 1981, he joined a well - known local recruitment company and became a partner in 1986. He left in 2010 and started a new company, HMW Recruiters Inc, with three of his former colleagues. HMW Recruiters specializes in Accounting, Finance, Operations and Manufacturing positions from Manager/Controller roles all the way up to “C” level positions. Malcolm and the HMW team have completed thousands of searches and are ready to service all your recruiting needs.

Jean is a co-founder of HMW Recruiters Inc. She brings 20 years of recruiting and advisory experience from her local and international search career, where she has worked both as a senior consultant and a manager.

Jean’s honesty and integrity has resulted in client and candidate loyalty over the years. Her sincerity and strong work ethics have resulted in a loyal client base and a well-deserved history of repeat business. Having the ability to achieve the highest placement ratios and being one of the top producers in her previous companies, she is highly regarded by her colleagues in the industry. She was fondly referred to as “Jean, Jean – the recruiting machine” for many years by her ex-colleagues. Jean is a true “results-oriented” recruiter!

Her thousands of positions filled over the years have included many controllers, accounting managers, senior/intermediate/junior accountants, financial analysts, payroll and benefits specialists, and credit and collections professionals.

Jean has the ability to understand and anticipate recruiting needs for clients. She has assisted scores of candidates over the years with her career and industry insights. Many candidates have come back as clients just as clients have had the confidence to use Jean’s services as candidates. Many of them have become friends, which is the highest compliment of all.

Jean holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in “Mathematics for Commerce” from York University. She also holds the professional designation of Certified Personnel Consultant. Jean is a dedicated, hands-on mother. She volunteers at her daughter’s school and is involved in her many activities. Her hobbies include yoga, skiing, cooking, arts and crafts, and spending time with friends and family.
