Our client is a Vancouver based company with head-office in South Vancouver, a short drive away from Richmond. Throughout the last 25years, this local company has expanded from a small community into three provinces - AB, BC, ON. Success doesn’t stop here, they are still expanding! They are hiring for a Payroll Manager with 5-7years solid payroll and benefits experience. Suitable candidate will have proven experience processing and managing a small team of payroll and benefits staff. You will also bring experience handling a large payroll of up to 2000+ employees that encompasses multi-provinces, unionized payroll, company benefits, RRSP administration.

Duties will include but not limited to :
• Develops systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits,
garnishments, deductions, taxes and third party payments)
• Coordinates timekeeping and payroll systems
• Oversees processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system
upgrades
• Ensures compliance with relevant employment standards and internal policies
• Supervises and coaches payroll administrators and assistants
• Maintains payroll staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
• Liaises with auditors and manages payroll audits
• Collaborates with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams
• Maintains accurate records and prepares reports
• Processes forms and documentation for administration of benefits.
• Administers group insurance plans
• Engages in the development and implementation of appropriate payroll and benefit policies and
procedures
• Resolves issues and answers payroll-related questions
• Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures
• Complies with federal, provincial, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new
legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
• Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information
confidential
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing
professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
• Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on
work results
• Maintains payroll staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning,
monitoring, and appraising job results.

Candidates are best to have their own vehicle for this location and the office is very close to Richmond.
Extensive knowledge of PGI Payroll Guardian, Avanti, ADP and Excel skills preferred. Your organizational, effective communication and conflict resolution skills are highly appreciated. Experience in system conversion will have an advantage.

Co offers 1-2days/week work from home opportunity. Salary: 90,000 – 100,000 plus excellent benefits, RRSP contribution and a long term, stable industry for the right individual.
